On Saturday, Oct. 22, the Oregon Ducks took on the Buffs at Folsom Stadium. Though CU fought hard, Oregon, ranked #7 in the Pac-12, brought their game on a level the Buffs couldn’t match. CU Independent photographer Robert Denton shot the 2011 Battle of the Bands, which was put on by Program Council and CU Late Night on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 in the Glen Miller Ballroom. They supported Chicago’s power-punk trio Juicehead and legendary re-formed New Jersey horror-core band the Misfits on Oct. 9, 2011 at the Summit Music Hall in Denver. Boulder’s own Movement Climbing and Fitness Gym hosted the United States’ first sport-climbing world cup in over 20 years over Oct. 8-9, 2011. CU Independent photographer Sean Bacon was in attendance to document the climbing prowess of the competitors. The 26th annual Rocky Mountain Shootout cross country meet was hosted by CU at the Buffalo Ranch at South Campus on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2011.
