Photos: Buffs keep it close, but fall to No. 16 Arizona State

The University of Colorado Buffaloes played the No. 16 Arizona State Sun Devils in the Pac-12 opener Saturday at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo.

ASU won, 38-24.

Colorado’s Sefo Liufau led all passers with 278 yards and three touchdowns, while Christian Powell led the Buffs with 118 yards on 11 carries.

The 8:11 p.m. kickoff was the second latest start at Folsom Field, the latest being against Florida State at 8:15 p.m., back in 2007. For the blackout game, which was attended by 38,547 Buffs fans, Colorado debuted a new matte black helmet.

Up next, Colorado plays Hawaii on Saturday at home.
