Snowy and overcast conditions seemed to cause both Colorado’s and San Diego State University’s women’s lacrosse teams to come out slow on Sunday.
SDSU went into halftime up 4-2, with two goals and an assist from Michaela Jarvis. The Buffs came back and outscored the Aztecs 4-2 in the second half to send the game into overtime, thanks to two goals apiece from Sarah Lautman and Marie Moore. As overtime started, the weather deteriorated, and the snow increased. Through two 3-minute overtime periods, neither team had secured a victory, so the game went into sudden death.
Lautman netted the overtime game-winner in the final minutes, finishing the game with four of the Buffs’ goals in their 7-6 victory.
