CU student dies after skiing at Breckenridge

Jacob Koltun, a 22-year-old english major at CU, was pronounced dead Monday after skiing expert terrain on Peak 7 at Breckenridge, according to the Summit County coroner’s office.

CU students and faculty have been asked to be extra sensitive in this difficult time for those who knew Koltun.

“We are all concerned about the well being of our students and want to assist them if they need help at this emotional time,” CU journalism program assistant Dean Steve Jones said in an email.

The investigation into Koltun’s death is ongoing, the coroner’s office said in a news release, but no further information is available.
