It’s not unheard of that one of the most challenging parts of a young woman’s life is finding out who she is and being comfortable in her own skin. We try yoga, meditation, therapy, and help books, often ending up with no answers and sheer disappointment.
What if feeling amazing in your own body started with finding it through your orgasm?
What could be better than that? An orgasm is one of the most amazing sensations your body can feel. It is almost too good to be true to think that women can find themselves and finally feel complete through orgasms.
Nicole Daedone’s upcoming book, Slow Sex: The Art and Craft of the Female Orgasm available May 25, 2011, delves into this idea, helping a woman find herself along with pure pleasure through orgasms.
After writing my last article about orgasms, I was lucky enough to interview Daedone and learn what her vision was and what she hoped to come out of ‘Slow Sex.’
Daedone started out where all of us are, in college. As a graduate teaching assistant at San Francisco State University for sexual identity and communication, she started to question what women wanted to know about sex.
The most popular answer? Women questioned why they weren’t good enough and how they could feel more empowered and in touch with themselves.
It’s natural to feel this way in college. Most of us have a hard time being okay about ourselves around others. Realistically, it takes years to find out who we are. But like yoga and meditation, Daedone, through experiential research, found that orgasms and mediation together can also bring a woman to a level of understanding within herself.
Now, you’re probably wondering how on earth orgasms and meditation work together to give you a sense of self. I would give it away, but I want to leave it to the expert to reveal the secrets in ‘Slow Sex.’ When used the right way, the process can do wonders to our self-esteem as women.
As her first printed book, ‘Slow Sex’ is Daedone’s way of sharing her insight of the female orgasm with other women. As Daedone puts it, “When something touches you so deeply, you have an obligation to share this knowledge [with others].”
In many cases, women are scared and even embarrassed of talking about their orgasm, let alone pay attention to it. This may seem like a whole new way of thinking, but grasping who we are through our orgasm can bring vast change to our lives.
Daedone’s main point through ‘Slow Sex’ is to have every woman discover that she is perfect the way she is. Learning this as college students will give us a leg up in conquering what women struggle with today.
Through finding ourselves through our orgasm, Daedone believes that women will know their place and not be surprised when they realize rules are “stacked against us.”
Our orgasms empower us.
Personally, I cannot wait for this book to come out. Being able to experience and share Daedone’s amazing discovery is something I look forward to.
Nicole Daedone is also the visionary behind OneTaste, a company solely based on bettering a woman’s orgasm, as well as helping women through orgasmic meditation.
Along with ‘Slow Sex’, Daedone has eBooks on her website that help women realize the power of their orgasm. The website also allows for women to connect via Skype to get coaching on orgasmic meditation and other aspects of the woman’s orgasm.
Daedone also has another website, which is a place for women to identify themselves through their orgasm.
Thanks to Daedone, this new insight into self-discovery will likely redefine many aspects of women’s sexuality.
As women, we all deserve to be comfortable in our own skin and feel what it’s like to be ourselves through an amazing orgasm. Reading ‘Slow Sex’ and taking advantage of Daedone’s resources, hopefully we will all be able to reach this orgasmic haven.
