Boulder officials are reopening access to the evacuated areas affected by the Boulder Dome fire.
As of 10 a.m., according to the Boulder Office of Emergency Management website, Boulder county officials opened access to all restricted areas for the Dome fire.
Streets and neighborhoods that were opened include Canyon Park Avenue, Sunshine Canyon Road to Poorman Road, 40511-40517 Boulder Canyon, Eagle Drive, 7 Hills, Granite Drive, Timber Trail, Green Rock and Willow Glen.
Open space trails in the evacuated zone are still being kept restricted from the public for recreational purposes, and local firefighters request that the public remains away from these areas, as air suppression will continue throughout the day.
All evacuees who stayed at the East Boulder Recreation center were transported back to their homes by 10:15 a.m. The emergency shelter closed hours later.
The fire is estimated to be 70 percent contained, according to the website. It remains active in 144 acres, but has not advanced. Three crews of 60 firefighters continued work overnight to suppress the fire and 150 firefighters are estimated to be working today.
