Posting of the initial results for this fall’s University of Colorado Student Government student elections reveals the Excel ticket candidates as the front-runners in the election.
Many students ran for representatives at large, board members for the Arts and Sciences Student Government and representatives for the LEEDS School of Business.
This year’s student voter turnout exceeded that of the past 20 years for fall elections, said Dani Warly, CUSG’s election commissioner.
Seventeen students have been elected, as of this morning, out of the 35 students who ran in the three elections, according to the CUSG website.
These initial results show that five students were elected for representative at large, five will now serve as board members for ASSG and seven students will serve as representatives of LEEDS.
Gabe Schreiber, Brooks A. Kanski , Tyler Goering, Amy Johnson and Danielle Watkins-Green were elected to serve as CUSG representatives at large.
All representatives at large elected represent the Excel ticket.
Brett J. Forrest, Abby Berman, Aslinn Scott, Joseph Dinnen, Madeline Koutnik, all from the Excel ticket, are the newly elected ASSG board members.
Emily Stading, Marc Herzberger, Taylor Oliver, Raymond Grant, Theodore (Teddy) Chavez, David (Rush) Williams and Emily Pihlstrom have been elected to represent the LEEDS School of Business.
Unless complaints are filed regarding the initial election results, the results will become finalized, according to the CUSG website. Should complaints be filed, CUSG will hold hearings and allow for written opinions on the complaints, after which the results will become finalized on Thursday, Nov. 18.
According to the CUSG election website, two referenda were also passed. Amendment 101 and Amendment 102 both passed.

The text of this story originally stated that representatives had been elected to the Leeds School of Engineering, this was incorrect. The story now correctly states that they were elected to the Leeds School of Business. This information was, and is, listed incorrectly here.
