As the clocked ticked to 4:20 pm, revelers celebrated with the jazzy, folk-infused stylings of local band Back to the Woods.

In Boulder, April flowers not only bring May showers, but also clouds of marijuana smoke over the Norlin Library Quad on 4/20 at 4:20 p.m.

OPINION – There isn’t a lot to celebrate in April. The month starts off with a day of pranks, and from there all people can celebrate are taxes, the Titanic tragedy, Thomas Jefferson’s birthday and the occasional day of warm weather—unless you live in Boulder.

As people get ready to migrate over to Norlin quad and smoke a ceremonial bowl in honor of 4/20, many contemplate the event’s history and how it may be transformed with the increasing acceptance of marijuana.
