Submit

by Jake Mauff October 27, 2017

The CU Independent welcomes submissions from community members at the University of Colorado Boulder. That includes faculty, staff, undergraduate or graduate students and other interested parties.

Below are our standard requirements for submitted work:

  • All stories, photos, video and graphics are subject to standard editing practices, including but not limited to fact-checking and copy editing.
  • Written submissions must be at least 300 words. Letters to the editor may be no more than 500 words.
  • Visual submissions (photos, political cartoons, etc.) must be at least 300 dpi. Videos must be at least 720p and at least 24 frames per second.
  • All submitted pieces must be clearly applicable to the audience of the CU Independent.

The CUI reserves the right to not publish submitted work. The higher quality work is (clean copy, aesthetically sound images, stable and clear video), the more likely it is to be published.

You must provide a name and email address, and preferably a phone number so the CUI can contact you in the editing process. Anonymous publishing is considered on a case-by-case basis, and the editing staff will still need to know your identity.

If you do not hear back from us within 48 hours of submission or your form does not load, email tips@cuindependent.com to confirm that your submission went through.
