This fall’s must have gadgets

The gadgets are coming! The gadgets are coming! Electronics companies are letting consumers know just what they need this fall: gadgets. Wordplay aside, the coolest new tech is coming out in the next few months. This is your guide to this fall’s most anticipated pieces of tiny tech.

First up is the iPad mini. Announced on Tuesday, the iPad mini is the next step in Apple’s war on the tablet world. Boasting similar features as the full-sized iPad, mini lacks only the gorgeous retina display. Instead it has a 7.9 inch screen with a similar resolution. The mini comes complete with Apple’s iOS operating system to keep customers happy with a sleek and familiar system. The only negative so far, as is the case with most Apple devices, is the price. Starting at $329, the price is a little steep, especially in comparison to the mini’s main competition, Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD and Google’s Nexus 7. The iPad mini hits shelves on Nov. 2.

This fall’s next big gadget comes from video game giant Nintendo. The WiiU, as it has been lovingly named, is the next console platform and the first from gaming’s newest generation. Sony and Microsoft have yet to release their new consoles, but rumors are swirling about announcements and release dates. The most intriguing part of the WiiU is its controller. Sporting a 6.2 inch screen on its gamepad, players can interact with games on both their television and their controller. The WiiU also plans to be a great improvement in processing power in comparison to the original Wii. The WiiU will be available on Nov. 18.

Maybe you don’t need a tablet or a new way to play video games but a new phone instead. Nokia’s Lumia 920 is going to be one of the first phones on the market running Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system. With sleek edges and a giant 4.5 inch display, the Lumia 920 is one of the best looking smart phones around. It comes in a variety of colors. The phone also supports one of the coolest features that is coming to fruition in the recent years.

If you would like to actually be outside this winter with your smart phone, try out these new gloves from Burton.
