Students can take part in a video game tournament on Wednesday at the University Memorial Center. Wednesday will be the first in a series of tournaments that students can take part in which will be double elimination and/or round robin. The full schedule is listed below with all tournaments located in UMC 415:
- Sept. 11: Madden 20 (PS4)
- Sept. 25: Rocket League (PS4)
- Oct. 9: FIFA 20 (PS4)
- Oct. 23: Mario Kart (Nintendo Switch)
- Nov. 6: COD Modern Warfare (PS4)
- Nov. 20: Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite (XBOX ONE)
- Dec. 4: Halo 5 (XBOX ONE)
The tournament is being put on by The Connection, a student lounge in the UMC offering bowling, a bar and access to Club 156. The facility has hosted trivia nights, poker tournaments, karaoke nights and comedy open mic nights in the past. Other future events will be hosted in different rooms in the UMC while The Connection’s main facility undergoes renovation.
Sign up for Wednesday’s tournament will begin at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. The tournament is free to enter. More information can be found here.
