The campus police department is investigating a strong-arm robbery that took place Friday night outside of the Hale Science building.
According to a statement released early Saturday morning, around 9:30 p.m. April 19 the victim was southeast of the Hale Science building when the suspect emerged from behind a bush, demanding money. No weapon was seen by the victim or mentioned by the suspect.
In an email sent out by the CU Boulder Police Department, the suspect was described as a 6-foot-1-inch white male in his 20s with a short brown beard and a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head.
In response to an attempted strong-armed robbery outside of the University Memorial Center earlier this month, CUPD spokesperson Scott Pribble said that robbery on the CU campus is not common.
The CUPD encourages anyone with information regarding the incident to refer to the CUPD at 303-492-6666. Alternatively, any information can be reported anonymously to the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or nococrimestoppers.com.
