According to French media, over 100 people are dead after multiple simultaneous terrorist attacks occurred in Paris, France Friday night. French police have stormed what was a hostage situation and killed two of the attackers.
Here is what is known as of now:
- Two gunmen dressed in black entered the Bataclan theater with AK-47s and opened fire into the audience. One witness reported that 20 to 25 people lay on the floor when he escaped
- At roughly the same time, a bomb exploded outside the Stade de France, the French national stadium, where France was playing a soccer match against Germany. Intelligence from the scene suggests that it was likely a suicide bombing.
- Other shootings are reported to have taken place near the Stade de France, making a possible total of six separate simultaneous shootings.
- No responsibility has yet been claimed, though ISIS is reported to have applauded the attack on Twitter.
