The FIRE (Females Inspiring Real Empowerment) Undergraduate Women’s Leadership Conference, a one-day conference aimed at inspiring undergraduate women, will take place April 12 on campus.
The event, which runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., is free and open to all students.
The conference will feature breakout sessions, a women’s panel and two keynote lectures from successful businesswomen.
The keynote speakers are Whitney Shelley, vice president and chief human resources officer of Denbury Resources, who was recently named one of the top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil and Gas, and Jane Miller, author of Sleep Your Way to the Top, and other Myths about Business Success.
Breakout session leaders and panelists will include Ann Lieff, Kristine Shaw, Katie Malachuk, Mary Beth Lewis, Christy Orris and Angela Thieman-Dino.
Topics covered during the conference will include self-limiting, confidence and empowerment, how to balance a career and family, women mentors.
