Dustin Thomas is leaving the Colorado men’s basketball program, the team announced in a release Monday morning.
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound sophomore swingman averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 17 minutes per game in the 2014-2015 season. He played in all 32 games this season for the Buffaloes and started in 11.
“Dustin has decided it’s in his best interest to leave CU and finish his collegiate career elsewhere,” Colorado coach Tad Boyle said. “I wish nothing but the best for Dustin- he’ll always be a part of the Buffalo Basketball family.”
Thomas’ departure comes a day after the announcement that senior guard Askia Booker will not play in the team’s upcoming CBI tournament, which tips off Wednesday at 7 p.m. when Colorado will host Gardner-Webb University in the Coors Event Center.
