The Colorado women’s basketball team easily handled Missouri State, 87-59, in the first round of the Omni Classic.
Leading by 10 at the half thanks to a 10-0 run, the Buffs dominated the second half and cruised to the win.
Sophomore guard Haley Smith led the Buffs with 18 points and added seven rebounds and a steal. Senior guard Lexy Kresl turned in an impressive all-around effort with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block.
They will face in-state rival Colorado State in the Omni Classic championship on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Coors Events Center.
