The University of Colorado women’s soccer team fell 2-1 on Friday afternoon at Prentup Field to the Washington State Cougars. The Buffs took an early lead near the 30th minute, thanks to some skilled footwork by junior forward Madison Krauser, who weaved through defenders to eventually find teammate Brie Hooks for her team-leading sixth goal of the season. Washington State answered in the waning minutes of the first half with a goal of their own in the 41st minute. Coming out of the half, the Cougars quickly scored what would prove to be the game winning goal in the 50th minute.
Colorado falls to 10-6-0 and 3-4-0 in the Pac 12. They have a day to rest before facing the Washington Huskies on Sunday. The match kicks off at 1 p.m. MST at Prentup Field in Boulder.
