With two games left in their tumultuous season, the Colorado men’s basketball team is hoping to finish on a high note.
The Buffs began their season-ending road trip Saturday, March 1 at Utah. The Utes won, 74-62.
“We’re young,” Colorado head coach Tad Boyle said of his team earlier in the week. “And now it’s time to grow up with what we’re facing down the stretch; three games on the road against three quality opponents.”
Now, the Buffs have just two opportunities to cement themselves as contenders in the Pac-12. A poor showing in these games means a middling finish and a significantly harder road through the conference tournament.
Colorado will travel to Stanford Wednesday, March 5, and their season will end on the West Coast that Saturday against Cal. These games will provide a chance to see if freshman forward Tre’Shaun Fletcher, who began practicing this week for the first time since his injury at Washington on Jan. 12, can return to provide some much-needed depth to the team. Outside of that, Boyle says the Buffs aren’t changing much.
“It’s just more fine tuning and getting our guys’ minds, bodies and spirits right for the next battle we face,” Boyle said.
