WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Colorado on Monday to view the damage from recent flooding.
White House spokesman Jay Carney says Biden and his wife, Jill, will also survey the recovery efforts under way.
The White House is not yet releasing any additional details about the timing or location of the visit.
A long recovery process has started in Colorado following devastating, dayslong flooding. The number of those missing has dwindled from a high of 1,200 to about 200 as search teams and rescuers continue to reach stranded victims. State officials say six people have died in the floods, and two missing women are presumed dead. The number is expected to increase.
