This week, Desire2Learn was down for almost four days. CU Independent talked with campus staff about the repercussions of this outage, alternatives to D2L, and the possibility of another outage like this happening again.
CORRECTION: At 1:12, OIT Communications Manager Greg Stauffer is quoted as saying that there are many professors who are not tech-savvy. This was an unfortunate transition into the next segment explaining that professors were limited without access to D2L, not a quote from Stauffer. At Thursday’s feedback session, some professors acknowledged some CU faculty members are not tech-savvy and struggle to find alternatives to D2L during the outage.
