The Colorado Buffaloes continued their historically horrendous 2012 season in an ESPN primetime, blackout Thursday night matchup against the Arizona State Sun Devils that ended in another blowout with a final score of 51-17.
Tonight’s game marked the 88th anniversary of Folsom Field (christened in 1924). Thursday also offered more CU history with the induction of John Wooten to The National Football Foundation Hall of Fame. He became the sixth Colorado player to be inducted.
As for the 2012 Buffs, the only history solidified Thursday night was the end of any chances to contend in the Pac-12 South division. Although the Buffs managed to keep the score close throughout the first half going into the break with a score of 20-17, Arizona State took over in the second half, holding the Buffs to zero points and an extremely stagnant offensive effort gaining only 89 yards in the second half.
The Buffs record now goes to 1-5, and the next few weeks have the Buffs facing three of the Pac-12’s finest programs with games at USC on Oct. 20, at Oregon on Oct. 27 and Stanford on Nov. 3 back at Folsom Field.
