CU welcomed 4,200 admitted students and their parents to campus yesterday for Admitted Student Day.
The university hosted over 100 events in the form of informational lectures, receptions and tours across campus, highlighting the vast opportunities CU can provide for students academically, socially and residentially.
Director of Admissions Kevin MacLennan said he is excited to bring so many potential students and their families to the university for this important day.
“Many students coming have already confirmed their attendance for the upcoming fall semester,” MacLennan said. “This is their opportunity to reconfirm that decision and allow themselves to look at all the potential ways they can be a part of the CU community. For those who haven’t confirmed CU yet, they can explore our campus, community and academic programs to see if this is the place they can see themselves five months from now when fall classes start.”
“The goal is to really celebrate our academic accomplishments of the admitted student class and to allow families to get more information from us to make the most well-informed college decision they can,” MacLennan said.
High school seniors have until National Confirmation Day on May 1 to declare which college they plan on attending. With this important day coming up, this is one of the last opportunities potential students have to get to know what CU is all about.
“I love to showcase what a world class university CU really is,” MacLennan said. “When students get onto our campus, see our agenda and exciting presentations, CU exceeds most people’s expectations of what we can offer. Many people leave thinking, ‘I had no idea CU had so many opportunities for me,’” MacLennan said. “This is the day these kids start to feel good about being a CU student.”
