The CU Police Department is investigating the death of a CU student that occurred over the weekend.
The student died in a dorm on Sunday night, and CUPD Commander Tim McGraw said that the student appears to have died from a medical episode.
“First and foremost it appears to a singular episode that doesn’t possess any hazard to the community or doesn’t appear to be anything associated with foul play,” McGraw said. “Other than that, our investigation is ongoing.”
McGraw said the police department is awaiting a toxicology report from the coroner’s office, which could potentially take one to two months.
“In Colorado, the coroner’s office is the entity that determines cause of death,” he said. “So we’ll wait for that report. Things are pretty much in the coroner’s hands now.”
McGraw said other than the police department’s preliminary ideas regarding the student’s medical history, they will not be releasing any further information at this time.

Please please please don’t use the big red “BREAKING NEWS” with a title lack that when they think the student died for medical reasons and no foul play was involved. It instills an unnecessary fear before you read the article.
