The University of Colorado will be hosting it’s 68th annual Conference of World Affairs this April. The much-anticipated event welcomes scholars and professionals from the farthest reaches of the globe to share their knowledge and experience with the Boulder community.
This year’s lineup features prominent professionals from a variety of fields including Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak, President of the Muslim American Leadership Alliance Zainab Zeb Khan and former ambassador to Mali and Madagascar Vicki Huddleston, to name a few.
Traveling to Boulder from across the globe, the speaker set includes participants from Lebanon, Nicaragua, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.
The topics expected for discussion include pressing current issues ranging from ObamaCare to a moderated discussion on radical Islam.
The conference will begin April 4, and is set to run through April 8. All panels are free and open to the public with the exception of the Jazz concert on April 5, which requires tickets awarded by lottery.
The keynote address will be a student-moderated discussion with Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak. The discussion is scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m. April 4 in Macky Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public — however, due to anticipated popular demand, tickets are required for entry.
Tickets will be distributed for CU students at the University Memorial Center (UMC) starting March 28. For faculty and community members, tickets will also be awarded the week of March 21.
For those who wish to attend the keynote address but do not have a ticket, there will be a live stream option set up in the Glenn Miller Ballroom in the UMC.
Admission to all other panels is open on a first-come, first-served basis. Students ranging from K-12 to college level are given priority seating, and in some cases are granted advance entry to panels. It is suggested that attendees come to the panels early, and arrive with any group members they wish to be seated with.
