CU Boulder’s Mackey Auditorium will host a collaboration between the Boulder Philharmonic and pianist Conrad Tao on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m.
Tao, age 20, is renowned for his classical compositions and recently received a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Arts to support a two year artist residency.
The performance, Creative Legends, will examine “humanity’s origins through creation-inspired music,” according to the Boulder Philharmonic.
Featured will be the music of Beethoven, Haydn and Milraud, as well as an original composition of Tao’s titled Pangu.
At 6:30 p.m. there will be a free pre-concert talk.
Admittance to Creative Legends is open to everyone and will cost $13. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.boulderphil.org/site/ or at Mackey Auditorium.
