In a thriller of a game, the Colorado Women’s basketball team defeated in-state rival Colorado State, 87-81, in double overtime to win the 2014 Omni Hotels Classic.

Seniors Jen Reese and Lexy Kresl both had a stellar night. Reese scored a career-high 26 points, while Kresl recorded the fourth triple-double (12 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists) in team history. Sophomore Lauren Huggins contributed by nailing three clutch 3-points in the two overtime periods to keep the Buffs in the hunt.

The Buffs’ next test will be San Jose State on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Coors Event Center.
