The Colorado Buffaloes jumped out to an early lead in Friday’s Rocky Mountain Showdown, but the Colorado State Rams then ran them over with their powerful two-pronged rushing attack.
CU lost 31-17, despite promising performances from quarterback Sefo Liufau (241 yards and 2 touchdowns) and wide receiver Nelson Spruce (104 yards and 2 touchdowns). The Rams finished with 266 yards on the ground, with 139 of those coming from recent Alabama transfer Dee Hart.
Up next for the Buffaloes is a visit to the east coast to play the University of Massachusetts next Saturday at 1 p.m.
