Bob is initially threatening, but becomes suspiciously contrite, releasing Monica with her powers intact but promising that there was a person who could insure that there would be no more “misunderstandings.

Lead singer Lilly Marie Scott was all smiles as she collected the grand prize for her band, Varlet, at the 2007 Battle of the Bands. “It’s awesome,” Scott, 18, said. “I can’t even comprehend the prizes.” Scott, with a voice reminiscent of Alanis Morissette, played an acoustic solo, “Tire Swings,” as an encore for the small crowd gathered at Glenn Miller Ballroom.

On Tuesday, Boulder’s Fox Theatre is ringing in Halloween with a concert, featuring the CD release of UpRoot and Higher Minds and Free Amigos. Starting at midnight there will be a costume-clad dance party with tunes courtesy of DJ Symmetry. The All Hallows Eve Party is officially hosted by Students for Peace and Justice as well as Boulder Attention Homes.

Every year costume stores sell expensive disguises that have been seen year after year for increasingly higher prices. To avoid spending money at stores, some students make their own costumes.
