A fifth suspect has been arrested on suspicion of stealing from a marijuana dispensary last summer.
Kevin Scott Beauford, 42, was taken into police custody Friday at his home in Lafayette, Colo., according to a Boulder Police Department news release. The Options Wellness Center, a registered marijuana dispensary, was robbed last June. Beuford had been a customer of the dispensary, and police say they believe he helped the other suspects to plan the robbery and to obtain forged documents to gain access to the dispensary.
The four other suspects are David Henderson, 40, Justin St. John, 29, Walter Carter, 21 and Lamar McGee, 22, according to previous news releases.
They entered the Options Wellness Center on June 16, 2009 as if they were customers, according to police. When asked for their medical marijuana registration cards, they told the clerk that she was being robbed and left in a Cadillac Escalade with two tubs of marijuana, cash and surveillance equipment.
A police officer in an unmarked patrol car followed the suspects on Highway 36 until marked cars eventually pulled them over. They were questioned and later arrested.
According to the latest news release, Beauford was outside the Options Wellnes Center in another car when his accomplices robbed the dispensary. He was booked into the Boulder County Jail on charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, forgery and three counts of child abuse.
