“Perspective” attracts outdoor-lovers and adventure-seekers
Action sports captivated the screen Tuesday night when Summit Side Productions screened the film “Perspective.”
The movie featured a blend of mountain biking, BMX, kiteboarding, snowboarding
and heli and alpine skiing.
“It’s an action flick with stuff like skiing, kiteboarding, BMX and more,” said Adam Baronfeld, a junior communication major. “It’s gonna be a good time.”
The outdoor entertainment brought in a group of people who love the outdoors.
“I love that it’s a big conglomeration of outdoor activities. The genre just
interests me”, said audience member Brooke Berlin. “I love the outdoors. I ski, cycle, hike, camp. I could go on.”
“Perspective” appealed to those who seek adventure.
“I’m here for the action”, said Matt Schneider, an audience member.
The movie featured outdoor enthusiasts from across the globe. Heli-skiers Eric Henderson, Jason West and Stephane Riendeau were shown flying down mountains. Mountain biker Jonas Green was seen cruising through the forests. Snowboarders Coogan Kelly, Ross Baker, and John Mcgee were seen skidding down rails and shooting down trails. Skiers like Ben Dolence and Ty Dayberry hauled their way down snow-covered mountains and powder runs.
These outdoor athletes were hitting terrain all around the world. The movie
featured scenes from Alaska, Lake Tahoe, Northern California, Nevada, Wyoming,
Oregon, Utah, Australia and The Netherlands.
The high energy soundtrack added to the stunts performed. It featured names
like Thievery Corporation, North Coast Underground, Slackstring and NativeRoot.
“I loved the soundtrack. It was very well done,” Berlin said.
The only complaint was the lack of female athletes starring in the movie.
“There needed to be some female representation. It was a good movie for what
it was but I think they should show that there are women out there doing these
things,” Berlin said.
The 72-minute long movie is available through Summit Side Productions. “Perspective” is available on DVD and features over 30 minutes of bonus footage.
