The Colorado Buffaloes (6-2, 4-1 Pac-12) beat the Stanford Cardinal (4-3 ,2-3 Pac-12) 10-5 on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Buffs and the Cardinal were locked in an offensive stalemate for much of the game. Colorado shanked three field goals in the contest, and the offense mustered just one touchdown.
The Colorado defense saved the day. Senior defensive back Tedric Thompson recorded two interceptions in the game. Sophomore defensive back Isaiah Oliver registered a pick, as well.
Senior quarterback Sefo Liufau was shaky at times. He went 12-of-25 and threw 135 passing yards with a touchdown.
Junior tailback Phillip Lindsay was electric. He rushed for 131 yards on 12 carries. He did not play much of the second half but was seen on the sidelines in full pads.
The Cardinal’s Christian McCaffrey was all but a non factor on Saturday. He rushed for 92 yards and had a modest 4.4 yards per carry average.
Colorado outgained the Cardinal 359-263 in the total offense department.
With its sixth win of the year, Colorado is bowl eligible for the first time since 2007.
