CU’s Halloween weekend kicked off with an insane hour-and-a-half DJ set from Porter Robinson at the Balch Fieldhouse for Program Council’s Haunted Fest 2015. The one-night festival started strong with sets from Exmag, Minnesota and Sound Remedy, which were so Colorado it’s not even funny. It’s the brand of electronic music that has no real boundaries other than it gets you moving — it’s funky, it’s unique, but most importantly it’s heavy as shit.
Porter paid homage to this Colorado style while still packing the same punch and pulling at your heart strings. It was somewhat of a throwback to his early DJ sets, with heavy, heavy tracks mixed in with very kawaii festival trap. It was a beautiful blend of classic Porter and Colorado bass music.
