4:45 p.m. — The University Club
At the University Club on campus the Student Voices Count rally was in full swing. There were traveling poets with typewriters, people dressed as clowns, people waiting for buses.
There was even a special appearance made by Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley.
O’Malley is looking to promote his candidacy numbers, as he is well behind front runners Bernie Sanders and Hilary Clinton.
“I think debates are good for this country,” O’Malley said. “I think they’re healthy. I was here today rallying with an organization calling themselves ‘Moms Against Gun Violence’ to elevate hopefully the Republican party discussion about the common sense things and actions we can take to reduce gun violence in our country.”
