Junior point guard Spencer Dinwiddie is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, leaving the CU men’s basketball team without its top scorer.
It was obvious during Sunday’s loss to the Washington Huskies that Dinwiddie, whose left knee gave out in the second quarter, was seriously injured. Though Dinwiddie will undergo surgery after the swelling in his knee goes down, he is expected to make a full recovery, said head coach Tad Boyle. Colorado’s focus as they continue conference play will be reworking on-court chemistry.
After the loss against the Washington Huskies, the Buffs dropped from No. 15 to No. 21 in the Associated Press rankings. Colorado currently holds a 14-3 record on the season and a 3-1 record in the Pac-12.
The Buffs face UCLA Thursday night at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Coors Events Center.
