It might be tempting to take the week to recuperate from Snowball last weekend in preparation for St. Patrick’s Day, but power through it with these events because, after all, spring break is only two weeks away.
MONDAY, MARCH 11
Free show with Tyler, the Creator

If you’re reading this Monday afternoon, it might already be too late to get in line. Tyler, the Creator, of the hip-hop collective Odd Future, is holding a free show at 9 p.m. Monday night at the Fox. Entry is free, which means the place will be packed and each person is limited to one ticket.
TUESDAY, MARCH 12
Tune in to the College of Music’s website to hear some flamenco, jazz and Bach. The concert, broadcast live online, is separated into halves. The first is written by Bach and the second by members of the College of Music faculty: Doug Walter, vibraphonist; Jeff Jenkins, pianist; Steve Mullins, guitarist; Jacob Herold, saxophonist; and Alexandra Nguyen, keyboardist.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13
Every year, people across the country shave their heads to show solidarity with kids struggling with cancer and to raise money for cancer research. Join the philanthropy Wednesday with The Herd. Last year, the student group raised $31,000. Register for St. Baldrick’s Day here, and head to the UMC fountains from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. where The Herd will have four to six barbers to shave your head.
THURSDAY, MARCH 14
Pi Day
Everyone loved Pi Day in middle school because it was an excuse to eat pie instead of doing math. You probably can’t get out of that statistics class on Pi Day now, but take a break from your spring break diet and have some pie on this day. Check out Boulder Baked, Walnut Cafe and Shamane’s Bake Shoppe for some pie. Or, if you want to go the less-traditional route, hit up Beau Jo’s for a pizza pie.
FRIDAY, MARCH 15
Head to the Glenn Miller Ballroom Friday for CU’s 10th Annual Poetry Slam, sponsored by Program Council, the Dennis Small Cultural Center and CU Late Night. The show is free.
SATURDAY, MARCH 16
“CU Ultimate Party”
If you’ve been on Facebook at all in the last two weeks, you’ve probably heard about the apparent “Ultimate Party” that’s supposedly happening Saturday night. Whether the event is a complete disaster or actually CU’s greatest rager ever, it’s sure to be interesting. The party’s location will be announced on the Facebook event page.
SUNDAY, MARCH 17
St. Patrick’s Day
Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day, which in Boulder typically means excessive day-drinking. If you don’t already have plans, check out The West End Tavern‘s celebration, which starts at 11:30 a.m. Along with food and drink specials, including bangers and mash and car-bombs, there will be Irish dancers performing at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
