This weekend’s line-up continues in the same vein as CU Arts and Culture week, with a film festival, dance festival and craft market. By the end of this weekend-long artistic endeavor, you might just be ready to do your math homework.
FRIDAY
“Green Lantern” in CHEM 140
Catch “Green Lantern,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, for free Friday night from Program Council’s Friday Night Film Series. The superhero film begins at 9 p.m. in CHEM 140.
DEERPEOPLE
Program Council presents the Oklahoma indie band Deerpeople in UMC Club 156 at 8 p.m. Presale tickets cost $8 and $10 at the door.
Moondance International Film Festival
The Moondance International Film Festival offers workshops and screenings of indie films and shorts. Tickets for the screenings cost $10. Films are shown in both the Old Main Theater and Fiske Planetarium from 7 p.m. to midnight. Buy tickets and check the full schedule at http://www.moondancefilmfestival.com.
Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema
Check out the 8th annual Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema for a variety of films combining dance and film art forms. The video installation opens at 6:30 p.m. in the Atlas Black Box Studio, which is on the lowest basement level (B2). The films and live performance begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. SATURDAY
University of Colorado vs. Colorado State University
Head to Denver on Saturday to support the Buffs as they play against our rivals, the CSU Rams in the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown game. The football game starts at 11:30 a.m. at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium.
Gypsy Farm Market
If you’re not heading to the game, check out the Gypsy Farm Market at 3390 Valmont Road for a market with over 80 artisans’ handmade goods, vintage finds, music and food. Hanson
Check out Hanson at 7 p.m. at The Fox. Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door, plus $2 charge if you are under 21.
Moondance International Film Festival
The Moondance International Film Festival continues with screenings of indie films and shorts starting at 7 p.m. in the Fiske Planetarium and at 9:50 p.m. and 10:57 p.m. in the Old Main Theater.
Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema
The Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema continues on Saturday with a different program of documentaries and shorts in the Atlas Black Box Studio at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
SUNDAY
Boulder Green Streets A few of the best things about living in Boulder are the constant Pearl Street festivals. Boulder Green Streets is a chance to learn about sustainability while enjoying cool weather, outdoor activities and an Eco Active Fashion show. The event will take place from 15th to Folsom along Pearl Street and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Moondance International Film Festival
Catch the last day of the international film festival, which begins at 11 a.m. in Old Main and ends with a final showing at 9:20 p.m. at Fiske Planetarium. Tickets cost $10.
Gypsy Farm Market
The Gypsy Farm Market wraps up today at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
