Weekly Tips from the CU golf team
When was the last time you practiced practice? Check out this tip from coach Roy Edwards and sophomores Riley Andrews and Luke Symons to keep your practice sessions in focus.
We have all done it. We head out to the course on our lunch hour thinking we’ll have plenty of time to practice our golf game. Then we sit on the range shooting off balls like a Gatling gun in any direction.
It is time to change that approach if you truly want to lower your scores and make the best of your practice time. As Andrews and Symons illustrate, grab a buddy and create a few games to unearth your inner-competitive spirit. Instead of just putting from hole-to-hole, challenge a friend and the winner buys drinks.
The Buffs play for sleeping time on Friday mornings while the losers head into the gym early.
Or if you’re out on the driving range, have a particular target in mind and continually shoot for that target. You may be hitting the ball straight all day, but if you can’t hit your target then the practice is no good.
And we know you look cool when you hit your driver. But really, how many times do you use that club on the course?
Drive for show, putt for dough, and make the most out of your practice sessions and you’ll start seeing lower scores in no time.
