Colorado’s offense failed to produce yet again.
Colorado’s women’s soccer team was defeated by the Baylor Bears 1-0 in overtime Sunday at the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field in Waco, Texas. The Buffs fell to 5-6-1 (1-2-1 Big 12), and Baylor improved to 9-3-1 (2-2 Big 12).
Coming off a loss to Texas Tech Friday, Colorado came out firing, out-shooting the Bears 7-3 in the first half.
Despite the Buffs’ strong showing, the teams went into the locker room 0-0 at the half.
Colorado came out with the same intensity in the second half, but could not find the back of the net.
Colorado’s freshman goalkeeper Annie Brunner was tested in the 69th minute, when Baylor freshman forward Selby Polley finally put a shot on goal for the Bears.
After another scoreless 45 minutes, Colorado found themselves in the all too familiar overtime. Sunday is the fifth time this season that the Buffs have been tied at the end of regulation.
The deadlock was broken in the 104th minute, when Baylor sophomore forward Dana Larson received a pass from sophomore defender Lisa Sliwinski, and put the ball past Brunner, sealing the win for Baylor.
Colorado will return home next weekend, taking on Missouri Friday at 4 p.m.
