The Colorado women’s golf team opened their season with success.
The Buffs won the 2010 Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, Tuesday in Fort Collins. It is the fifth tournament win in the women’s golf program’s history.
Colorado finished the three round tournament with a 1-over score.
Junior Emily Talley led the Buffs individually. She finished second overall in the tournament, shooting 2-under on Tuesday and a 7-under for the tournament. The score matched two school records for fewest strokes and the most strokes under-par.
Shooting 2-under Tuesday along with Talley were junior Jess Wallace and sophomore Taylor Doyle. Both Wallace and Doyle finished the tournament tied for 13th
Rounding out the Buff’s team scores were freshmen Jenny and Kristin Coleman. The pair finished the day with matching scores of 5-over par. Jenny finished the tournament in 28th place while Kristin finished 21st overall.
Colorado will try to keep the success going when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to take part in the Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational. They will open with two rounds on Friday and will finish the tournament Saturday.
