On Tuesday, Facebook marketing director Kelly Graziadei was announced as the commencement speaker for the 2016 graduation ceremony.
Graziadei is a CU alum; she graduated in 1997 with a degree in advertising from the Journalism and Mass Communication program. In her position at Facebook, she manages sales and account managing teams. Graziadei has held this position since she joined the social media network in 2010.
Prior to becoming an executive at Facebook, Graziadei worked at Yahoo for six years, where she held in multiple positions.
The commencement speaker’s resume doesn’t end there. Graziadei was the Director of Interactive Marketing for 90octane. Moreover, she managed strategic partnerships for AltaVista, and also worked for SBC/AT&T.
Graziadei spoke at the journalism commencement last spring. She discussed fear and how it can be used to one’s advantage rather than something that paralyzes a person.
The Senior Class Council was in charge of selecting the commencement speaker. Graziadei was in consideration early on in the process.
Colorado’s commencement speech will take place during the school’s graduation ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 7, at 8:30 a.m. It will be held at Folsom Field.
