Gipsy Moon
The eclectic and acclaimed band Gipsy Moon will take the stage at the Fox on Thursday for their second annual “Holiday Extravaganza.” The Nederland-based group, on an “endless musical journey,” according to their website, are best known for their incredibly diverse sound. If you check out Gipsy Moon, be prepared to hear indie-folk, jazz, blues, Latin, and even Celtic tunes. The Fox states an evening with Gipsy Moon entails “A blending of genres that hippies and poets, lovers and dancers, freaks and families alike can all come together to sing and dance until the sun comes up.” Gipsy Moon will play at the Fox on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 p.m. with openers Taarka and The Sweet Lillies.
John Brown’s Body & Juno What
In the mood to listen to a sunny and welcoming sound that will surely warm you up from this chilly week? Look no further, because reggae sensation John Brown’s Body will play at the Fox Theatre on Friday. WRUV lauds John Brown’s Body as “Future roots, reggae, and dub with an intricately balanced weaving of vocals, percussion, keyboard, bass, guitar, and stunning three-piece horn section that ties it all together.” Joining John Brown’s Body is Juno What!, a dance and funk group based out of Denver. John Brown’s Body & Juno What will be playing at the Fox on Friday, Dec. 4 at 9 p.m.
Cold River City
“Psychedelic Groove Soul” band Cold River City will come to the Fox this Saturday. Cold River City features a diverse group of musical talents who have slowly bonded and become a more cohesive group. Cold River City has some local ties, as they recorded their “12.12.12.” EP in Boulder. This group is known for their passionate and energetic shows, perfect for a Saturday night out on the town. Cold River City will play at the Fox on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. with openers Lula Granji and local bluegrass band Tenth Mountain Division.
The Mighty Diamonds & The Yellow Wall Dub Squad
If you can’t make it to John Brown’s Body on Friday but are still in the mood to hear some live reggae-centric tunes, you’re in luck. Lauded harmonic trio The Mighty Diamonds will perform a “Holiday Celebration” at the Fox on Sunday. The Mighty Diamonds began their career in Kingston, Jamaica in 1969 and have not looked back since. The group is best known for their delectable harmonies, and captivating performances. While The Mighty Diamonds may have a sound that is easy on the ear, they also pack some powerful political messages into their tunes, centered around the difficult realities of life in Jamaica’s slums. Joining the Mighty Diamonds on stage is fellow reggae group The Yellow Wall Dub Squad. These musical legends will be playing at the Fox on Sunday Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. with openers Hwy 50 and Mono Verde.

Bastille
Bastille will bring their sensational sound to the 1stBank Center this Saturday. Hailing from the UK, this pop band has achieved meteoric fame over the past few years following the success of hit singles such as “Pompeii.” Subsequently, their debut album opened at number 1 on the UK charts, and the rest is history. For a memorable night with a band on the rise and sure to be on top of the charts for years to come, check out Bastille, performing at the 1stbank Center on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. with openers Cold War Kids, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Wombats and AMZY.
