CU-Boulder student Berry “Tyler” Allen, who had been missing for more than a week, has been found, his parents announced Sunday on the Find Tyler Facebook page.
“Tyler is found and safe!” The family posted to the page Sunday morning. “He is undergoing a medical exam in Boulder. We cannot express our gratitude for the outpouring of love & support from all of you. We will post more as soon as possible. Thank you!! xoxo”
Allen, a 20-year-old communications major, had not communicated with family or friends since April 16. He was the subject of a search that stretched from the trails of Chautauqua to bus routes California and Texas.
“On behalf of the entire CU-Boulder community, I am pleased that CU-Boulder student Berry Tyler Allen is safe and has returned to Boulder,” Chancellor Phil DiStefano said in a statement Sunday. “My thanks to all the volunteers who worked with Mr. and Mrs. Allen to search for Tyler; the Boulder Police, who the led the investigation into his disappearance, and the CU staff and Boulder community members who have supported his family during this ordeal. The campus and Boulder communities rose to the occasion to support one of our own and demonstrated the care and commitment that defines our university.”
Allen had been missing since April 11 and had last been heard from on April 16.
