The University of Colorado Buffaloes lost to the Oregon State University Beavers 36-31 on Saturday at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo.
The Buffs trailed 36-24 late in the fourth quarter, but scored with three minutes to go to cut it to a one-possession game. After forcing Oregon State to punt, Colorado got the ball back with two minutes to go, but didn’t manage to do much and turned the ball over on downs.
It was the breast cancer awareness game, in which the Buffs wore pink. This was Oregon State’s first visit to Folsom Field since Colorado joined the Pac-12 in 2011.
Coming into this game, Buffs’ wide receiver Nelson Spruce led the nation in touchdown catches with 10, receptions with 56 and receiving yards with 697.
Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau threw for 249 yards and one touchdown, while Oregon State’s Sean Mannion threw for 308 yards and one touchdown. Michael Adkins II rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown for the Buffs, while Terron Ward rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns for the Beavers.
Sophomore linebacker Addison Gillam suffered a concussion (his second of the season) in the third quarter and will not return.
Up next, the Buffs (2-4, 0-3 Pac-12) have two bye weeks before travelling to Los Angeles to take on USC.
