The CU Student Government has launched their updated website, a project that has been in the works since the beginning of last semester.
The new site was a goal the CUSG administration had wanted to accomplish for a long time, said CUSG chief of staff Lora Roberts, a junior elementary education major. “The old website looked like it was done in the 1980s.”
She said the updated site is more comprehensive, user-friendly and more frequently updated than the previous one.
Of all the new additions, the one CUSG is most excited about is a feature called Unite the Buffs, an online petitioning system Roberts said will help the political process be more transparent. Students can submit petitions, and if the petitions garner enough signatures, they will be placed on the agenda of the CUSG Legislative Council.
There are currently four petitions on the website concerning matters like pardoning Edward Snowden and deporting Justin Bieber. None of the petitions have received any signatures thus far.
An official announcement from CUSG regarding the launch of its new website is expected sometime early next week.
