Colorado women’s basketball has some postseason play to look forward to this month.
The field for the Women’s National Invitation Tournament was announced Monday, March 17, shortly following the announcement of this year’s women’s NCAA tournament selections. CU will be taking part in the WNIT, which begins Wednesday, March 19.
The Buffs (17-14, 7-13) will host Texas Christian University in the first round of the tournament. The TCU Horned Frogs of the Big 12 Conference boast an 18-14 record, with an 8-10 record in conference play.
The Horned Frogs were led in scoring this year by sophomore guard Zahna Medley, who averaged 16.9 points per game.
Colorado hopes to build off of a Pac-12 Tournament two weeks ago where, despite a weak conference record, they showed flashes of promise in a win over UCLA and a loss to No. 6 Stanford during which Colorado led at halftime.
CU plays TCU at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Coors Events Center.
