FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Colorado State University President Tony Frank is telling students in a letter to take care of each other following the deaths of two first-year students whose bodies were found in their dorms this month.
The Coloradoan reports Wednesday that 18-year-old Nikita Krasko died Oct. 12 by hanging in his room. The county coroner has not released the cause and manner of death of the other student, 18-year-old Amelia Sundblad. She died Oct. 23.
Frank does not name the students or how they died in the letter posted Tuesday on the university’s website. He tells students to “ask for help when you’re hurting.”
The Rocky Mountain Collegian reports Wednesday that mental health professionals were immediately sent to the dorms after the first death. Support, the Collegian said, has been concentrated in Durward and Westfall halls.
