The legislature will have the authority to raise this tax every year if they so desire. This is a permanent tax and change to our state constitution. The ads run by the Pro Amendment 66 groups primarily bankrolled by outside interests are grossly misleading and do not speak the truth. Don’t believe me? For an unbiased government website that will give you the true $ this will cost you, type into the address bar:

http://www.colorado.gov/lcs/taxestima…. There you can type in your taxable income and see what the increase will be if this passes. Even someone with a taxable income of $25,000 will pay an additional $93.00. People on a fixed income cannot afford this tax increase.

Amendment 66 raises Colorado personal income taxes by 20%.

Amendment 66 increases the incremental tax on income over 75K by 27%.

Under Amendment 66 ‘typical’ households will provide only about 25% ($250,000,000) of the estimated $1B total new tax revenue. The bulk of the new revenue comes from the huge increased burden on those earning over $75K, including many two income families.

Despite being the largest tax increase ever, Amendment 66 does nothing to improve our infrastructure and storm water mitigation, nor does it provide any additional funds to any other sector of government except for education.

Amendment 66 is too big, too imbalanced, and too poorly constrained to approve into law.

Please vote NO on 66!

Is it really such a burden to educate our children? This funding is long overdue.
