The Coors Event Center hosted a double-header on Saturday in front of a chilled crowd. The men’s basketball team took on the University of Hartford Hawks at noon on Saturday in front of a crowd of 10,000 people, followed by the #23 women’s basketball team taking on the University of New Mexico Lobos. The Lady Buffs were in search of Linda Lappe’s 100th win and extending their undefeated run.
And on both occasions, the Buffs came out on top, defiantly. The men won 80-52, bringing their record to 10-2 and remaining undefeated at home, led by Andre Roberson’s double-double (14 points and 14 rebounds) and Josh Scott’s career-high of 21. The women won 84-39 bringing their record to 11-0, led by Lexy Kresl who scored 20 points on the afternoon.
The men are away in Arizona on Jan. 3rd and Jan. 6th to take on #3 University of Arizona and Arizona State University, respectively, in search of regaining a ranking; while the women take on #1 Stanford at home on Jan. 4th.
