Women’s golf wins Clover Cup
The No. 15 Colorado women’s golf team dominated the competition at the Clover Cup in Scottsdale, Ariz. this weekend. The Buffs finished one-two-three and then beat out second place Oklahoma by 31 strokes.
Jessica Wallace won medalist honors by shooting a final round 72, and finished with a total of 211. Alex Stewart, who won the Sugar Bowl tournament last weekend, was not far behind. She finished second, only two strokes out of first place. Emily Talley was tied for first going into the final round but shot a 77 to finish in third. CQ!
“My only stress today was that I wanted all of them to win,” CU head coach Anne Kelly said to the Sports Information Department. “I wanted them all to tie for first.”
The entire team has played well in the beginning of the 2012 campaign. CU has finished inside the top ten in all four of their tournaments this spring.

Women’s tennis beats Metro State, 7-0
The win Saturday afternoon snapped the Buffaloes’ three-game losing streak and brought their overall season record to 7-6.
“Today was a good day to test our concentration and to test our focus,” CU head coach Nicole Kenneally said to the Sports Information Department. “A lot of our players stayed with it and the scores showed it.”
The Buffs dominated, bringing their all-time record against Metro State University to 3-0.
CU’s last home games of the year are next weekend at the South Campus Courts as they take on No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 USC.

Men’s golf finishes sixth at Brandon Dunes Championship
The conditions were cold and windy on the final day of competition in Brandon, Ore., but four of the Buffs finished just 1-over par on the final four holes. CU fell to Pac-12 competitors No. 3 Washington, No. 9 Oregon and Oregon State, who respectively finished first, third and fourth.
Kevin Kring led the Buffs, finishing with a final score of 218 and earning him a tie for 10th place.
“I’m really pleased with the whole team,” CU head coach Roy Edwards said to the Sports Information Department. “We beat some pretty strong teams, and each of three tournaments has been improvements on each other. The guys are really starting to figure it out and we’re all really encouraged.”
The Buffs return to Oregon for the Oregon Duck Invitational from March 26-27.
