MONDAY
Remembering Our Fallen
Come by the UMC Gallery anytime this week to remember and recognize the Colorado service men and women who have served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 through Friday, Nov. 11. The UMC Gallery is located on the second floor of the UMC around the corner from the Reception Desk and Veterans Lounge.
Fleet Feet Fun Run
If you’re tired of running in place on the treadmill day after day, check out the Fleet Feet Fun Run. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to join the group on a different route around Boulder every Monday. Runs usually last from about 20 minutes to an hour and take off from the Fleet Feet store at 6 p.m. Visit the Fleet Feet Boulder website for more information.
TUESDAY
Warren Miller’s “…Like There’s No Tomorrow”
Warren Miller Entertainment’s 62nd winter sports film is showing at Boulder Theater this Tuesday through Sunday. Go see athletes like Julia Mancuso and Chris Davenport perform Warren-Miller-type stunts and get pumped up for ski season. Tickets can be purchased for $26 at Boulder Ski Deals and the Boulder Theater box office. Hit the Lights @ Club 156
Program Council and Soda Jerk present Hit the Lights with Such Gold and Divided By Friday in Club 156. Hit the Lights is a pop punk band that has toured with artists like Boys Like Girls, Hellogoodbye and New Found Glory. Show starts at 6 p.m. and tickets cost $13. Sam Brower @ The Boulder Book Store
Sam Brower is the private investigator that uncovered the horrific acts of Warren Jeffs, the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints. Brower will be speaking about his book, “Prophet’s Prey,” that details how he solved the case and what it took for him to get there. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Vouchers are $5 and can go toward a discount on Brower’s book or on any purchase on the day of the event. Visit the Boulder Book Store website for more details.
“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”
CU Theater presents this Tony Award-winning musical comedy by Rachel Sheinkin and William Finn. The show plays at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday there is a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday in the University Theater. Tickets are $14 with a CU student ID online or at the University Theater Box Office.
THURSDAY
Amanda Marie Ploegsma @ BMoCA
The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting young artist Amanda Marie Ploegsma for this week’s Expert Talk. Hear her and her mother discuss her artistic development at 6:30 p.m. at BMoCA. FRIDAY
Veterans’ Day Ceremony
Join CU in recognizing Colorado veterans and dedicating the Iraq and Afghanistan War Memorial Plaques at this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony. The ceremony will be led by Major David M. Rozelle and the Joint ROTC Color Guard. The ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom.
Veterans’ Day Concert
See and hear CU’s Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band pay tribute to America and its veterans in Macky Auditorium this Veterans Day. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
SATURDAY
Football: Colorado vs. Arizona
Come watch your Buffs take on the University of Arizona Wildcats on Folsom Field. Kick-off is at 12:30 p.m.
